ICTI Care promotes ethical manufacturing

The International Council of Toy Industries’ ethical manufacturing program, known as ICTI Care, has launched an initiative designed specifically to aid small to medium enterprises (SMEs) in creating sustainable and responsible supply chains.

The initiative, titled Committed Brands Plus, will provide instant and affordable access to ICTI Care’s searchable database of over 1,300 toy factories around the world, detailed profiles on factories’ ethical performance, and ICTI CARE certification audits.

After making a splash with its new Harry Potter puzzle line in Canada and the U.S., Quebec’s Wrebbit 3D is busy casting the same spell over fans in Europe where J.K. Rowling’s young wizard is just as beloved.

Earlier this week, Wrebbit 3D debuted its Hogwarts Collection in Germany at Spiel Essen 2016, a toy and game fair for consumers.

Since opening on October 13, Wrebbit President Jean Théberge says the region’s puzzle lovers have been flocking to the Canadian company’s exhibit where the full range of its Wizarding World line is on display. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities, including some hands-on puzzling.

Later this month, the Canadian Toy Association is heading to the nation’s capital for a show-and-tell with members of Canada’s recently elected Liberal government.

The CTA’s management team of Serge Micheli, Michael Dargavel, and Danielle Russell will be accompanied by the Association’s Board of Directors. In addition, Gil Barrows and Michael Mactaggart, both with Global Public Affairs, the CTA’s long-time government-relations partner, will be on hand to lend their expertise.

The 2016 edition of Kids India wrapped up after a successful three day run (September 15-17) at the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre in Mumbai.

Now in its fourth year, the show has grown to become India’s largest B2B event for suppliers of children’s products, especially toys. (India, considered an important emerging market for kids’ products, reported a population of over 400 million children under the age of 18, in a recent census.)
