In conjunction with Health Canada, two Canadian importers, Toronto’s CTG Brands Inc., and B.C.’s Siu & Sons Int’l Trading, have issued recalls on two styles of rubber duck sets.
According to the notices, which were released December 12 and December 13, respectively, the affected products contain embedded squeaker mechanisms that can be easily removed. The squeakers are small enough to cause choking if swallowed by a small child.
CTG Brand Sets Include Three Ducks
Over 5,000 of CTG Brands’ three-piece Floating Duck Sets were sold between June 2015 and December 2016 through various Canadian retailers. The affected product (item #05338, UPC#062823053380) involves a net bag containing one large duck and two smaller ducks — all are yellow with orange beaks.
As of the end of November, neither CTG nor Health Canada had received any reports of incidents or injuries stemming from use of the product. However, HC is advising caregivers to take the recalled items away from children and discard them in regular household waste. Consumers may also return them to their place of purchase for a full refund. For more information, contact CTG Brands Inc.
Siu & Sons’ Recalls Four-piece Duck Sets
Approximately 1,008 units of Siu & Sons’ Color Fantastik Party Favors Rubber Duck sets were sold in a four-month period, August to November 2016, through various retailers across Canada.
This recall involves sets of four ducks (item#52220, UPC#801362522205), which are yellow with orange beaks and come packaged in a net bag.
As of December 6, neither Siu & Sons nor Health Canada had received any reports of incidents involving Canadian consumers. Caregivers are advised to take the recalled rubber ducks away from children and dispose of them in their regular household garbage. For more information, contact Siu & Sons Int’l Trading.
