Although the festive-season countdown is well underway, The National Parenting Center recently announced its list of Holiday 2016 Seal of Approval award winners.
Among the more than 90 products to receive a coveted SoA from TNPC are several from two Canadian companies.
This year, Quebec’s Bojeux Inc. picked up an SoA in the craft category for its Tutti Frutti Party Bucket, an activity set featuring Bojeux’s fabulous Canadian-made scented modelling dough. The company picked up a second award, this one in the games category, for its wooden Pingpole – Giraf & Yetis game, also made in Canada.
Toronto’s Spin Master Ltd. also added to its portfolio of awards, picking up SoA’s for eight products, including the Meccano Micronoid robot, Hedbanz Electronic game, Zoomer Hedgies, Spy Gear Video Walkie Talkies, Hatchimals, Build a Bear Stuffing Station, Brightlings, and the PowerPuff Girls Deluxe Flip to Action Playset.
To compile its annual Holiday SoA list, TNPC, one of the U.S.’s oldest resource organizations, tests all toys over an eight week period, relying on volunteers, families and educators to put all the products under the spotlight. Participants fill out questionnaires, evaluating products for a variety of criteria, including desirability, sturdiness, interactive stimulation and overall quality.
