Health Canada and Quebec baby-product supplier Kidz District are recalling 369 Kidsme-brand Glow-in-the-Dark pacifiers sold at various retailers across Canada between October 2015 and November 2016.
The pacifiers, which come in three colours (lime-160117 LI, lavender-160117 LA, aquamarine-160117 AQ), are BPA-free and designed for use with infants and toddlers, three months old and over.
According to Health Canada, its sampling and evaluation program determined that the recalled items don’t meet the Canadian safety requirements for pacifiers under Canadian law. Specifically, the grip of the affected pacifiers can detach from the base and because of its small size could present a choking hazard to young children.
While neither Health Canada nor Kidz District has received any reports of incidents or injuries to Canadian consumers who’ve used the products, HC is advising caregivers to immediately stop using them and contact Kidz District to receive a refund.
