Hot Toys for Summer is the Canadian Toy Association’s first media event of the season. And although the annual event is just weeks away, CTA members still have time to participate in the popular showcase of spring and summer items, which attracts media from south central Ontario.
The 2016 Hot Toys event is scheduled for May 17 and takes place at Toronto’s Ontario Science Centre where this year the CTA has reserved both an indoor and outdoor space to better display active-play products.
Interested participants, which this year may include CTA members, as well as members of the U.S. Toy Industry Association who operate or conduct business in Canada, have until March 24 to submit their coolest warm-weather products to the CTA for inclusion. (To qualify, products must be on store shelves by May 1, 2016.)
While suppliers are usually limited to three products, the CTA is beefing up the wow factor by allowing additional submissions if the toy exemplifies one of the current top five trends as seen at last February’s North American International Toy Fair in NYC.
