Montreal-based Imports Dragon announced it has been named Canada’s master toy licensee for Super Wings, a hot new TV series for preschoolers.
As lead toy supplier for the property, Imports Dragon will develop, produce and market a line of transformable figures based on the series’ cast of characters, as well as playsets promoting story lines. The line is scheduled to reach retailers in Q1 2016.
Super Wings features the adventures of Jett, a cute jet plane who travels around the world delivering packages to children in 52 cities and 45 countries. On every delivery trip — he journeys to a different destination in each episode — Jett encounters new problems that he can only solve with the help of the Super Wings, a group of planes who transform into robots that can run, jump, climb, dig, swim and dive.
Launched on Korean television in 2014, the animated production hit North American televisions earlier this year, first debuting in the U.S. on Sprout and just recently airing to rave reviews in Canada on the Treehouse network.
The show, which targets kids, two to five years old, is designed to encourage creative problem solving and inspire cultural diversity.
