Brobo Helps Kids Be Brave at Bedtime

Since “his” launch last year, Brobo, a huggable 13-inch robot whose heart is a comforting night light, has been joined by four additional characters: Pep, Trex, Mumu and Dog.

Designed for kids, 18+ months, each character contains lab-tested polyester fibers and is covered in a soft but durable Velboa fabric that cleans easily with a damp sponge.

All characters feature Brobo’s signature, energy-saving LED heart-lights that are powered by three AA batteries. (Batteries are safely stored in a parent-accessible-only case located in a Velcro-sealed compartment.) Robo and his friends offer a reassuring sleepy-time mode that helps little ones be brave at night, plus a cheerful play-time mode — both are activated by swiping the toy’s right hand over his chest. The light automatically goes off after five minutes or it may be turned off manually by simply swiping the character’s hand again.

Developed by two young Canadians, the Brobo line, which was recently named a 2013 Toy of the Year by Creative Child Magazine, has been further expanded to include storybooks and an online-cartoon component. From Keji Inc.
