The organizers of the bi-annual Toys and Games Central Fair continue to build their brand.

Their recent Autumn 2016 event (August 21-23) at the GTA’s International Plaza Hotel not only saw a 20 percent increase in the number of exhibitors, but it also notched up buyer attendance.

The well-known president of Victoria-based Outset Media Corp. recently hosted a two-day event that not only celebrated Manga’s 20th year in business but also marked the launch of Outset’s new warehouse/showroom in Brampton, Ontario.

TIA Drops Girls and Boys TOTYs

TOTYs have been tweaked to include 14 categories

Boys’ TOTY and Girls’ TOTY are out. Action Figure, Collectible Toy, Construction Toy, Doll, Rookie, and Vehicle Toy are in.

The elimination of the long-time Boys’ and Girls’ awards, along with the addition of six new categories, are just part of the U.S. Toy Industry Association’s recent overhaul of the prestigious Toy of the Year Awards program.
