Perhaps it was the spring-like weather in New York City or just better marketing by the Toy Industry Association (TIA) that contributed to the party atmosphere and resulted in a jump in numbers at the 2012 NY Toy Fair. But whatever the reasons, attendance at the recent 109th American International Toy Fair surged beyond the expected 25,000, coming closer to 27,000 buyers and guests from around the world. And in days just before the fair, the TIA also found itself in the happy position of opening up additional exhibition space, hosting a final roster of around 1,100 vendors.
