Jonic Distribution North America Inc. (JDNA), recently signed a deal with Spain’s Martomagic giving the Toronto-based wholesaler exclusive rights to promote and distribute the enormously popular Gogo’s Crazy Bones line in North America. (The line was previously distributed in Canada by Toronto’s iToys Inc.)
Launched in 2009, Gogo’s Crazy Bones has become a leading license and a best-selling toy collectible, selling 310 million units worldwide. It’s also an award winner, picking up the British Toy & Hobby Association’s Collectible Toy of the Year Award in its first year.
Along with Magic Box International, which produces the line, JDNA announced plans to promote the brand across the U.S. and Canada with a multi-million dollar TV-advertising campaign. Starting this spring, JDNA is also reintroducing Series 1, a collection of 80 characters that are rated for strength and speed and come in five vibrant colours.
In support of Series 1, JDNA is also launching a comprehensive sampling program which will see up to 5,000,000 packs of Gogo’s being given away to eager North American fans. Of that number, 5,000 will be limited-edition pieces accompanied by official Gogo’s certificates — making them sought after collector’s items. By visiting the Crazy Bones website, fans can subscribe to the Gogo’s Club, plus enter a grand-prize contest to spend the day with Bailee Madison, star of Wizards of Waverly Place and Just Go With It. (JDNA recently initiated a partnership between Gogo’s lines and the popular actress.) The newly developed website, which features a fun, interactive mega-mall, also offers an exciting social media experience where ongoing contests take place. Fans will also have the opportunity to design their very own Gogo and win products, such as posters and gold tins filled with ten of the most valuable limited-edition gold Gogo’s.
