There’s still time to register for LIMA Canada’s first holiday education and networking event on December 8.
The Toronto-based branch of the International Licensing Industry Merchandisers’ Association, which opened its doors in May, is hosting the evening get-together at Corus Entertainment’s downtown Toronto headquarters.
Designed for licensing professionals from all industries, the event offers a line-up of presentations by top-notch speakers including:
- Diane Brisebois, president & CEO, Retail Council of Canada – The Canadian Retail Landscape & Its Impact on the Licensing Industry;
- Dan MacKenzie, vice-president and managing director, NBA Canada – The World of Sports Licensing: What Makes It Work;
- Joe Mimran, founder, Joe Fresh, Club Monaco, Alfred Sung, Caban and Dragon on CBC’S Dragon’s Den – Licensing in the Fashion World: Building Brand Image and Maximizing Potential;
- Pam Westman, head of Nelvana Enterprises – Nelvana and the Role of Licensing in the Entertainment Industry.
In addition, Martin Brochstein, LIMA’s senior vice president of Industry Relations & Information, will lead a panel of licensees in a discussion of the “Compelling Reasons for a Licensee to Take On a License.”
Refreshments and an opportunity to network with new and old friends rounds out the evening.
“LIMA is excited to provide Canadian licensing professionals with another occasion to gather for valuable educational and networking opportunities,” explains LIMA President Charles Riotto. “It is a fitting end to 2016 – the year in which we formed LIMA Canada – that we would be able to produce another event that works toward our goal of unifying the Canadian market.”
