Earlier this week, London, Ontario’s Brands in Balance confirmed a new partnership with Zoofy International LLC.
Under the arrangement, BiB will act as exclusive Canadian representative for the Florida-based company’s extensive line-up of licensed goods that range from toys, plush and backpacks to apparel and stationery.
Brands in Balance President Kate Baldwin says her company will handle about 80 percent of Zoofy’s more than 260 products.
Founded in 2009, the Zoofy collection of licenses has grown to include over 20 of the world’s most popular properties, such as Star Wars, Shopkins, Pokémon, Frozen, Minecraft, Peppa the Pig, Finding Dory and this summer’s hit The Secret Life of Pets. The wide variety of licenses appeals to kids — toddlers to tweens.
Representing a licensed line is somewhat of a new direction for Brands in Balance. However, Baldwin says she was inspired to take on the line for a number of reasons. “We consistently strive to offer our retail partners diverse product ranges that suit their customer’s needs and Zoofy’s brand umbrella offers independent retailers the ability to participate in this licensed product space. These are hot licenses on quality products that the specialty store will welcome” she explains. “In addition, we have found Zoofy to be a thoughtful, supportive partner, which is always integral to what Brands in Balance is looking for in a vendor partner.”
A broad selection of Zoofy products will be making their debut at the BiB booth next month during the Toys and Games Central Fair, which runs at Toronto’s International Plaza Hotel from August 21 to 23.
