CanGift and Habitat for Humanity Sign Eco-friendly Partnership

CanGift donating products left over from its tradeshows to Habitat for Humanity Canada

A new partnership between the Canadian Gift Association and Habitat for Humanity Canada will see hundreds of items remaining from CanGift trade shows repurposed to help Canadian families and their communities.

CanGift, which owns and operates the Toronto, Alberta and Quebec Gift Fairs, says it plans to donate any products left by exhibiting giftware suppliers to Habitat for Humanity Canada for resale in its popular ReStores.

HHC’s home and building supply outlets (ReStores) accept and resell quality, new and used building supplies, home furnishings, appliances and décor items from a variety of sources that might otherwise send them to their local landfills. Instead, items are retailed to consumers, with proceeds going to fund Habitat for Humanity operations and projects across Canada.

CanGift President Anita Schachter says, “The partnership between CanGift and Habitat for Humanity Canada allows our members to repurpose their products in an environmentally respectful way. The Association is thrilled to be working with a company that brings meaningful change to people’s lives.”
