Corus Expands Partnership with U.S. Cartoon Network

Corus and Nelvana creating licensed merchandise for TCN

Toronto’s Corus Entertainment, a leading creator of kids’ entertainment content, announced it has extended and expanded its partnership with U.S.-based Turner’s Cartoon Network.

This most recent multi-year broadcast and merchandise deal will also feature Nelvana (part of the Corus family), as the exclusive merchandising agent for TCN’s brands in Canada.

In confirming the deal, Nelvana’s Executive Vice President Colin Bohm says, “We are delighted to expand our relationship with Cartoon Network and its dynamic roster of fan-favourite brands. Cartoon Network Canada continues to delight our audiences with its terrific line-up of shows and we’re thrilled to be enhancing the fan experience through a wide range of merchandise that enables them to engage with the brands in exciting new ways.”

As merchandising agent, Nelvana, an award-winning producer of animated and live-action content, will develop and expand the variety of licensed merchandise for TCN’s iconic properties, such as The Powerpuff Girls, Adventure Time, Steven Universe, and Ben 10.

One of the most-anticipated consumer products programs — launching this fall in Canada — is an assortment of The Powerpuff Girls toys from Spin Master, the Toronto-based master toy licensee for the property.
