Munchkin Recalls Pacifier and Clips Sets for Choking Risk

Munchkin recalls 4 styles of pacifers and clips

Munchkin Baby Canada Inc. and Health Canada are recalling over 16,000 Latch Lightweight Pacifier & Clip Sets designed for babies, newborn and older.

The affected product involves four styles (#43662, #43763, #43848, #43764) that were sold at various retailers across Canada between July 2014 and February 2016.

According to the joint notice, the small coloured disc decorating the metal plate of the pacifier clip could detach and present a choking hazard to young kids.

Health Canada announced it has not received any reports of incidents or injuries involving Canadian consumers who’ve used the product. However, Munchkin Inc., which includes Munchkin Baby Canada Inc., acknowledged 10 reports (five in Canada and five in the U.S.) of the decorative disc detaching  – no injuries were reported.

Health Canada is advising consumers to immediately take the recalled pacifier holders away from children and contact Munchkin for a replacement Latch Lightweight Pacifier (2 Pack) or a refund. (To receive a refund, consumers must return the entire product.)

For more information, consumers may contact Munchkin via its website, Facebook page or by toll-free phone: 877-242-3134.
