Products from three Canadian suppliers have received a prestigious Seal of Approval from The National Parenting Center. The TNPC, a much-respected U.S.-based product-review and parent advocacy organization, named award winners in its just-released Spring 2016 awards report.
Two products from Toronto’s TCG Toys took honours in the Toys, Puzzles, Dolls Category. They were the Peppa Pig 25-piece Magnetic Wood Dress Up Puzzle for preschoolers, and the Heronim 1000-piece jigsaw puzzle designed for kids, 14+.
Meanwhile, Just Add Milk, a STEM activity/craft kit from B.C.’s Griddly Games was one of just three award winners in the Kits & Crafts Category. The FIMO Kids Forms & Playsets from Mississauga, Ontario’s Staedtler-Mars Ltd. was also a winner in Kits & Crafts.
The spring report, the first of three compilations released each year by the TNPC, recommends over 70 mostly-for-kids’ products in 18 categories ranging from books and puzzles to outdoor toys, mobile apps and video games.
Before compiling the report, the TNPC conducts ten weeks of product testing with consumers — both parents and kids. Products are reviewed on a variety of criteria including (but not limited to), price, packaging, design, stimulation, desirability, age appropriateness, and instructions.
A spokesman for TNPC says, ” Recognition from The National Parenting Center has become a significant bellwether for retail buyers as to which products will ultimately succeed in connecting with consumers.”
