Splash’s Floating Duck Set Recalled for Small Parts Hazard

Splash Intl Marketing Inc. Floating Duck Family

Almost 2,000 sets of squeeze-style rubber ducks, sold between February 2014 and October 2015, are being recalled by Health Canada and Splash International Marketing Inc., the Markham, Ontario-based importer of the bath toy for toddlers.

The Floating Family Duck set (model #HAC1S), which comes in a clear plastic bag, includes a large duck and three smaller ones, all featuring yellow bodies with orange beaks and a plastic squeaker embedded in the underside of each duck.

Health Canada says the squeakers can be removed easily from the toy’s body, resulting in loose small parts that may cause choking if a youngster puts them in his mouth.

Neither Health Canada nor Splash has received any reports of consumer incidents or injuries related to the use of the product in Canada. However, HC is advising consumers to remove the toy from children’s use and dispose of it in regular household garbage.
