When the hundreds of famous guests who are in town for the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival® drop into TIFF’s Tastemaker’s Lounge for a little R & R, they’ll be handed the usual loot bag full of expensive goods. And this year, along with the pricey cosmetics and electronics, the collection of swag-bag items will include a very affordable copy of uKloo-Early Reader Treasure Hunt (MSRP $15.95) from Toronto-based uKloo Kids, Inc.
Created by Doreen Dotto, uKloo is a multi award-winning literacy game for kids, four years old and over. Dotto says she was not only excited to learn her product had been chosen for inclusion in the Tastemaster’s selection, but also, “thrilled [for the opportunity] to bring a children’s literacy game to the attention of an international audience.”
Since its launch just three years ago, uKloo has won eight prestigious awards from North American play experts like Dr. Toy and is now distributed in 15 countries. Dotto explains its popularity with kids, parents and professionals. “uKloo is great for beginner and reluctant readers, ADHD and autistic kids. Kids get physically active as they follow clues in search of a hidden surprise. They’re so engaged, they begin to read without even realizing it,” says Dotto.
Two new versions of uKloo, including an Early Reader Treasure Hunt App and a Riddle Edition Treasure Hunt, for kids seven and over, are scheduled for launch this autumn. For more information contact uKloo Kids.
