The products of five Canadian toy companies have made it to Dr. Toy’s just-released list of 100 Best Children’s Products for 2010. Every year, Dr. Toy, one of North America’s most respected toy and play experts, looks at hundreds of products from all the important traditional categories, everything from dolls and construction to crafts and card games, before compiling her top picks.
This year’s list includes (in random order):
.
- Bloco Toys (Outrement, Quebec) – Velociraptor & Pterosaur Construction Set for 5-10 years;
- Ganz (Toronto, Ontario) – Webkinz Jr., 9-inch interactive plush for 3-6 years;
- Teach My Toddler (Toronto, Ontario) – Teach My Preschooler Learning Kit for 3-5 years;
- Spin Master Ltd. (Toronto, Ontario) – Moon Dough Barnyard Craft/Activity set for 2-4 years;
- Griddly Games (Vancouver, B.C.) – Chronicles of the Mind game for 10-12 years.
All products named to the prestigious list are reviewed by Stevanne Auerbach, a.k.a. Dr. Toy, and all have met her high standards for design, durability, price, quality, safety, and value.
Some of the other excellent products — many are distributed in this country by Canadian suppliers — that also made the list — include: Creativity for Kids’ Create Your Own 3 Bitty Book (from Brands in Balance), Green Toys Inc.’s Fire Truck (from Stortz & Associates), Patch Products’ 3D Sneaky Singin’ Sea Creatures Puzzle (from Outset Media) and Dandelion’s Organic Toddler Doll (from Fulton Sales).
