Congratulations to Cindy Di Carlo who was promoted in early July to the position of Executive Secretary for the Canadian Toy Association (CTA). Di Carlo joined the CTA in 2004 as Executive Assistant to Executive Director Sheila Edmondson, who recently retired after 28 years with the CTA. In 2009, Di Carlo added to her Executive Assistant responsibilities when she became Show Manager of the annual Canadian Toy & Hobby Fair, Canada’s largest toy show owned and organized by the CTA.
In her new position as Executive Secretary/Show Manager, Di Carlo will be handling many of the duties of her former colleague, including day-to-day administration of the CTA’s business. The CTA is a trade association representing the interests of its member manufacturers, importers, and distributors in Canada’s toy, game, hobby, and seasonal merchandise industry.
In conjunction with the CTA Board of Directors, Di Carlo is also responsible for organizing the Association’s Annual General Meeting & Conference, taking place on August 12 at Georgetown, Ontario’s Eagle Ridge Golf Club. The AGM is followed by the popular Toronto Toy Golf Tournament that regularly attracts more than 100 toy industry members.
